Description
CROME (Crop Map of England) is an annually updated thematic layer of land use in England, developed by Rural Payments Agency (RPA). The product is based on the Random Forest classification based on data from the Sentinel‑1 (VV/VH radar polarization) and Sentinel‑2 (RGBNIR multispectral channels) satellites. The spatial model is represented by hexagonal cells with an area of 0.41 hectares, divide into 46 English counties. Each cell contains a unique identifier, the land use code (LUCODE), the probability of the class, and the date of classification. The data is available annually from 2016 to 2024 after the harvest season.
